Twinning Association
If you’ve read the signs welcoming you to the village, then you will be aware that Long Wittenham is twinned with the Normandy village of Thaon.
Located just a thirty minute drive from the ferry port of Caen, the Normandy beaches (with a wide range of WW2 sites) and the historic town of Bayeux are nearby.
A Twinning Agreement between the two villages was signed on 19th May 2001. The Twinning Association was setup to promote Anglo-French relations based on visits between families.
